Camping

Our first month camping consisted of short trips with friends. One special trip was with our friends Hailey and Cara. That itself is special in addition to their Uncle having a sailboat! We went out sailing for a couple hours. Unfortunately the following weekend Rob's boat was struck by lightning and destroyed. Rob had the boat for years and it was his baby.

Our BIG family camping trip was to Jasper for 10 glorious days along the Athabasca River (a.k.a. fast river). It was a jammed pack fun filled adventure. We arrive Canada Day and took in Japser's celebrations. We dance our hearts out with live bands and Jasper's firework display...outstanding! We saw bears, bear droppings, mountain goats, mountain sheep, deer, elk, and other critters. We hiked, we biked, and we took in the hot springs (my favorite...swimming in warm water).
